RAG stands for Retrieval Augmented Generation. In plain terms, it's an AI assistant that reads your own documents before answering. A normal chatbot guesses from what it learned online. A RAG system looks inside your files first, then replies — and shows you exactly which document the answer came from. That's the difference between an AI that sounds confident and one you can actually trust.
